What To Expect From This Workshop
What Will The Students Build
When it comes to building, the Brickies experience ensures that children have access to all the LEGO bricks they need to bring their imaginative space designs to life. We provide thousands of LEGO bricks, meticulously sorted by colour and key part types to guarantee the best possible building experience.
During this workshop, there will be two exciting building challenges:
Spacecraft Challenge: Students will design and construct their own LEGO spacecraft, choosing to build a vehicle inspired by past or present space missions, learning about the technology that makes space travel possible.
Space Exploration Base Challenge: Students will unleash their creativity to design and build a futuristic space exploration base, imagining how humans might live and work on other planets. This challenge encourages innovation and problem-solving in a fun and engaging way.
Why KS1 Children Will Enjoy Our Space Exploration Workshop
KS1 Space Exploration Workshop Duration
Our ‘Space Exploration’ LEGO Building Workshop is 75 minutes of immersive, hands-on learning. We begin with an engaging visual presentation that vividly showcases the evolution of space exploration, from the first moon landing to modern spacecraft and future missions to Mars. During this session, we explore existing knowledge and discuss key facts about how technological innovations have enabled humans to explore the vastness of space.
Following the presentation, we introduce two exciting LEGO building challenges. First, the children are tasked with building their own spacecraft, inspired by space missions from the past or present. The second challenge encourages students to design and create their own futuristic space exploration base, imagining how humans might live and work on other planets and exploring new, innovative possibilities.
To conclude the workshop, we review the children’s creations, summarise the key lessons learned, and encourage teachers to capture photos of the LEGO masterpieces. This workshop not only educates but also inspires creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking through playful construction.
