Brickies Storytime – School Workshops
At Brickies our service is simple. We deliver fun and engaging brick building workshops, using LEGO elements. Every workshop we deliver is carefully storyboarded to create an immersive experience for the children to build along to.
We start with an engaging story and presentation that is linked to a curriculum topic of choice. We then provide the children with building challenges that are linked into the story. There are no instructions to follow, we promote imagination and creativity. We provide support throughout the sessions in the form of ideas/ suggestions for their builds and bundles of positive re-enforcement.
We provide a fun environment that challenges children to push the boundaries of their creativity and adopt a free range way of thinking. No idea is a bad idea, there is no right or wrong way to do something. After all exploration is not only the essence of the human spirit but the engine that drives innovation.
Learning through play
Our workshops are more than just building with LEGO they provide children with creative stimulus that can be continued into other subjects. For example, follow on literacy lessons can be linked into retelling the story of the workshop.
Our brick-tastic workshops typically last for around 90 minutes (although they can be adjusted to fit around your timetable) with up to 30 children in each session. We tailor our school workshop delivery to suit the needs of your school. Whether you would like a 60 minute workshop deliver to 30 children or a 90 minutes session delivered to 300 children we have a package to suit.
At Brickies we pride ourselves on being flexible to our customer’s needs. We want to deliver a fun creative workshop that not only leaves a lasting impression as a fun engaging activity but one that helps reinforce learning objectives in a practical manner.
We have plenty of ‘off the shelve’ themes to choose from that link in to popular learning topics such as Ancient Egypt, Science, Space, Vikings, Mythical Creatures, Exploration, Romans, Castles, Environmental Issues, Transport through the ages, Animal Kingdom and many more. We are more than happy to create a building theme that links into any topic.
All themes and are adapted to reflect the age and levels of the children we deliver to.
