What Will The Students Build

During this workshop, there will be two exciting building challenges:

Spacecraft Challenge: Students will design and construct their own LEGO spacecraft, choosing to build a vehicle inspired by past or present space missions, learning about the technology that makes space travel possible.

KS1 Space Exploration Workshop Duration

Our ‘Space Exploration’ LEGO Building Workshop is 75 minutes of immersive, hands-on learning. We begin with an engaging visual presentation that vividly showcases the evolution of space exploration, from the first moon landing to modern spacecraft and future missions to Mars. During this session, we explore existing knowledge and discuss key facts about how technological innovations have enabled humans to explore the vastness of space.

Following the presentation, we introduce two exciting LEGO building challenges. First, the children are tasked with building their own spacecraft, inspired by space missions from the past or present. The second challenge encourages students to design and create their own futuristic space exploration base, imagining how humans might live and work on other planets and exploring new, innovative possibilities.

To conclude the workshop, we review the children’s creations, summarise the key lessons learned, and encourage teachers to capture photos of the LEGO masterpieces. This workshop not only educates but also inspires creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking through playful construction.
