What Will The Students Build

When it comes to building, the Brickies experience ensures that children have access to all the LEGO bricks they need to bring their imaginative transport designs to life. During this workshop, there will be two exciting building challenges:

Historical Vehicle Challenge: Students will design and construct their own LEGO vehicle, choosing to build either a road or air transport inspired by designs from the past or present.

Future Transport Challenge: Students will unleash their creativity to design and build a futuristic vehicle of their own invention, imagining how transport might evolve in the future. This challenge encourages innovation and problem-solving in a fun and engaging way.

KS1 Transport Through The Ages Workshop Duration

Our Transport Through The Ages LEGO Building Workshop is 75 minutes of immersive, hands-on learning. We begin with an engaging visual presentation that vividly showcases the evolution of transport, from early horse-drawn carriages to modern cars and aeroplanes. During this session, we explore existing knowledge and discuss key facts about the history of transport and how technological innovations have shaped the way we travel.

Following the presentation, we introduce two exciting LEGO building challenges. First, the children are tasked with building their own vehicles, either for road or air, inspired by transport designs from the past or present. The second challenge encourages students to design and create their own futuristic transport vehicle, imagining how we might travel in the future and exploring new, innovative possibilities.

To conclude the workshop, we review the children’s creations, summarise the key lessons learned, and encourage teachers to capture photos of the LEGO masterpieces. This workshop not only educates but also inspires creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking through playful construction.
