In our KS2 Ancient Egypt workshop, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of ancient Egyptian civilisation and its lasting impact on history. They will explore the importance of the Nile River, the construction and purpose of the pyramids, and the cultural significance of statues and monuments.
Students will delve into the roles of pharaohs, the meaning behind monumental statues, and the religious beliefs that shaped Egyptian society. Additionally, they will investigate ancient construction techniques and how the Egyptians used skilled labour to build their iconic structures. Workshop Learning Outcome
By the end of this KS2 school workshop, students will be able to define and describe key elements of Ancient Egyptian civilisation and understand the historical and cultural significance of the pyramids. They will identify important figures, such as pharaohs, and explain the roles of monumental statues in Egyptian society.
Additionally, students will demonstrate their understanding by constructing detailed LEGO models of a pyramid and a guardian statue, incorporating architectural techniques used in ancient times.
